Portraits with Dual Edge Photography

I live my life a bit differently, I think. When I wasn't parading about the "castle grounds" (my backyard) shoe-less, I was sneaking out in the middle of a summer's night to lay in the grass and count the stars.

It all sounds like an embellishment of sorts - like I didn't really live this life. 

Like I never paraded about, imagining my life as if it were so much more.

But I always did.

As I got older, the fantasy stuck, and it was performed in different ways.

Laying on the front lawn as a child turned into long drives at 2am as a teen. 

Or laying on the hood of my car with my beloved that would never truly be - tears filling both of our eyes as we stared up at the moon.

Or sitting in the cool sand under an October sunset with my found family.

So I use that longing for adventure in my art. I use it to create an experience you won't soon forget.

Because images, to me, are nothing less than a fantasy, a magical story, or a wild adventure.

And why shouldn't they be?

So we're going to try everything we can to make them feel like that for YOU. You - the seasoned model or the never-been-photographed. The camera shy or the the performer. It doesn't matter. Magic is for everyone.

I always knew life was fleeting.

Even at a young age, I made very sure that the moments surrounding me must be ones that made me feel. 

They must. Because one day, this would all be gone. 

I wanted fairy tales to be real. So badly, that I longed to bring them to life.

So I do.

Through images that dance. That make you feel. That waltz and tango and bloom. That are poetic and alive.

That show the royals from the storybooks in real time. 

The kind that might escape the castle and change the world. The kind with dirty feet and muddied hems. The kind with their hair whipping wildly in the wind. The kind that might look up to the stars at night and stick their toes into the dark, moon-lit sea.
